BERHAMPUR/GAJAPATI: Maoist mediator Dandapani Mohanty’s son Sangram Keshari Mohanty who was arrested by Gajapati Police Wednesday under Mohona Police limit began a hunger strike in R.Udayagiri Jail. Dandapani said Sangram wanted to go on a fast condemning the consipiarancy of the Odisha Government which trying to affect his political carrier in Soroda area (?). He is an aspiring candidate for coming General election and was getting support from Soroda and Dharakote area of Ganjam. He further said Sangram was never Maoist supporter; he visited the house of suspended BJD M.P (RS), Pyarimohan Mohapatra on last 30th Nov.therefore the Govt.vindicted and arrested my son.
From Gajapati our correspondent verified the episode of Hunger strike of Sangram he came to know Sangram was on strike in Jail and his advocate appeal to Chief Minister Odisha for his release.
While discussed with Mr. Chandra Sekhar.Meena, S.P., Gajapati he said, to this office we have arrested Sangram Keshari Mohanty at Kamlapur under Mohona Police station and recovered many food materials with arm and ammunations.Sangram was arrested on the basis of Intelligence report from our Cuttack H.Q. What Mr.Dandapani says, that may be his personal version (?).We have sufficient evidence to prove before the court.
When Sangram about to hand over the arm and ammunations to another Maoist leader Kailash Mandal at the same time, same spot both of them nabbed. The two were produced in the court of JMFC, R.Udayagiri and remanded to Jail custody he said.
